There is a strong possibility at this stage that the Tropical Depression that is currently moving towards Samoa will turn towards Fiji later this week and may develop into a Tropical Cyclone.
Nadi Weather Office director Alipate Waqaicelua said the system is expected to move towards Fiji in an intensified form by this weekend.
The tropical depression was located about 500 kilometres East North East of Labasa at 4am today.
It is moving East North East at about 20km per hour and is expected to develop further.
Waqaicelua said people need to prepare for the system that will head towards us this weekend.
