Chaudhry Files Legal Action Against Fiji Times
Lawyers representing Interim Finance Minister Mahendra Chaudhry have today filed legal action against the Fiji Times and others after he was cleared off tax evasion allegations earlier today.

In a statement this afternoon Chaudhry said the Fiji media stands dis-credited by the reprehensible manner in which it conspired to defame him and remove him from office.

According to Chaudhry there was clearly a conspiracy by elements in the media to collude and connive with certain individuals and politicians to discredit, malign and defame him.

Chaudhry said he is glad that the whole plot has blown up in their faces.

He confirms that further defamation action against other media organizations and individuals will follow in due course.
