New Draft Constitution to be available soon-PM
The new draft constitution should be available for deliberation by the end of this month.

This is according to the Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama during a national address on Fiji's constitution last night.

Commodore Bainimarama said the Yash Ghai draft Constitution will be amended to ensure that the draft Constitution presented to the Constituent Assembly is one that is positive, and addresses fundamental issues of good governance that will result in an enduring Constitution and guarantee true democracy.

Commodore Bainimarama said when he returns from the G77 meeting in New York, he will send out invitations to various individuals and organizations to participate in the Constituent Assembly.

According to Commodore Bainimarama the Constituent Assembly is to have its first sitting next month and will deliberate on the new Draft.

He said other preparations towards the 2014 elections will continue.

Bainimarama added that the Ghai Drafts are also readily available through the internet and will be distributed during the Constituent Assembly process.
