Heavy penalties for illegal trade of scrap metal
A fine of $10,000 or a five year prison sentence is the penalty that offenders will face for illegal trade of scrap metal.

The sale of scrap metal was suspended yesterday which includes copper, aluminum, nickel, silver, tin and lead.

Permanent secretary of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Shaheen Ali pleaded to the illegal traders to refrain from such activities, which has lost millions of dollars to our public infrastructure.
