The Draft People's Charter's measure of health financing, such as social health insurance in addition to tax financing, is not on, because people just cannot afford it.
These are the words of Fiji Nursing Association General Secretary Kuini Lutua who said these types of goals to improve health service delivery will be an added cost to people.
Lutua added this service should be given free as people already pay taxes to the government for services.
Lutua added the contents of the Draft People's Charter are not new and have been in previous development and strategic plans, adding that a legitimate government is needed to make such proposals as they are the only ones who have the authority to get the public service delivery on track.
