The Chairman for National People's Charter Advisory Council believes implementation of the programmes that promote Multi racialism in the country is a challenge.
While addressing the second meeting of the council this morning, the Chairperson, Josefa Serulagilagi said there are still ministries and public institutions existing along racial lines.
Following the meeting he told Fijivillage News that there is still low representation of Fijian Indians in senior civil service positions and heads of missions overseas.
He said scholarships are still being given out along racial lines.
According to Serulagilagi various government ministries are expected to perform much better by the end of the year as some ministries were not geared up towards working according to plans of the Charter in 2009 as this started in the mid of last year.
