700 applications received for new pension scheme

More than 700 applications in 6 days have been received for the new pension scheme.

This is according to the Ministry of Social Welfare with the first payments expected to be made out by mid next month.

Meanwhile, a total of $3.2 million have been allocated by government for the new pension scheme for the elderly, which is particularly for those above 70 years old.
