Prices low due to intense competition
Intense competition is resulting in low prices seen in the supermarkets for people.

As Diwali is Tuesday, many supermarkets have brought prices down to attract consumers who are benefitting from the competition.

Chairman of the Commerce Commission, Doctor Mahendra Reddy said the critical outcome of competition is the reduction in prices, quality of products and services which are the two major issues they are currently seeing in the market.

Dr Reddy said three years ago the situation was not like this.

He said the Commission ensures that once businesses flourish, competition takes place and consumers are not ripped off.

Many traders have dropped the prices of Ghee, milk, chocolates, milo, meat, cereals, apples, canned products and many other items.
