High Suicides Rate in North Worry Police
Police have raised concern at the high number of suicide cases reported in the Northern division.

Speaking to Fijivillage News, Divisional Manager Community Policing Northern, Inspector Esekaia Daugunu said there have been fifteen cases reported for the Labasa area alone this year.

Daugunu said what's more worrying is that some of the reported cases involve youths, the youngest being a thirteen year old.

He said police are trying their best to fight the problem and has called on everyone to help. He said they are working with church organisations and NGO's to raise awareness in schools, and has also called on parents not to get too involved in activities that will take them away from their children and commit more time to them, so that they can pick up on any changes in behavior.
