Good Samaritan helps fire victims

Good Samaritan helps fire victims
The head of a seven member family in Nadawa Nasinu has become a good Samaritan to another family who lost all their belongings in a house fire two weeks ago.

The man who works as a driver in Suva and wishes to remain anonymous has opened his doors and now cares for 14 people altogether.

He said he instantly decided to give shelter to this family of Moci Place, Nadawa when he saw them crying after the fire, with the head of the house saying they had nowhere else to go.

The good Samaritan said seeing the men's four children and his elderly mother moved him to open his doors and take them in.

He said three of his family members are working and so far things have been running smoothly.

He said the other family has been receiving groceries from people which he has packed and kept aside for their new home.

He said he is now getting a house plan done and has also organised a singing competition this month to collect close to $5000 to build a house for the family.

He said other family members are also collecting money in Nausori and Labasa and so far they have managed to collect $1000.

He has also bought school books, uniform and a bag for the 8 year old daughter of the other family who did not go to school for a week after the fire.
