Delegates start arriving for G77 meeting
Eminent Persons from the Group of 77 have started arriving ahead of the G77 Eminent Persons Group meeting at Natadola which begins tomorrow morning.

The Prime Minister of Solomon Islands Gordon Da’rcy Lilo arrived last night after Vanuatu Prime Minister Moana Kalosil.

Arriving today is the President of Bolivia and also the Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea Peter O’Neil.

The two day meeting will begin tomorrow morning with a guard of honour before the meeting proper begins.

The G77 is the largest association of Third World countries before the United Nations which not only promotes technical and commercial cooperation, but also forms a political-economic bloc with a better negotiating capacity.

Created in 1964, it groups 130 nations now that seek to articulate the interest of countries of the South and increase their influence in multilateral forums.
