Investors Could Resubmit Proposals-Interim AG
Local and foreign Investors whose proposals are sitting in government agencies can submit their proposals to the Interim government again as well as give the reason given to them for the delay.

The Acting Minister for Industry, Tourism, Trade and Communications Aiyaz Saiyad-Khaiyum said concerns have been raised by investors both locally and internationally that the majority hindrance to the successful implementation of investment, is due to the delay in the approvals process among government agencies.

He said to facilitate the expeditious implementation of investment projects, investors with proposals that were submitted to regulatory agencies more than 3 months ago and who have not received satisfactory responses have been requested to submit their proposals to the Fiji Islands Trade and Investment Bureau and the Industry, Tourism, Trade and Communications Ministry.

Saiyad Khaiyum said that the Interim Government is strongly committed to raising the level of investment in the country as part of its effort to create employment opportunities improve the standard of living of the people of Fiji and reduce poverty.

He adds that all proposals received by the two agencies will be reviewed on an urgent basis and responses will be provided within 3 weeks. However he said that the submissions should reach the two offices within 3 weeks from now.
