Despite the restrictions on the use of firecrackers before next Thursday, it has been noticed that many still continue to use them.
Police Spokesperson Ana Naisoro said if they receive any complains in regards to firecrackers being used outside the allocated times those involved will be taken to task.
According to the Defense Ministry people should only use firecrackers from the 8th till 14th firecrackers can be used from 5pm till 10pm while on Diwali night it can used from 5pm till midnight.
Anyone caught using firecrackers outside the given time frame can be fined up to $400 or face imprisonment for up to 6months.
