We have lost the battle but the war is still to be won.
That is the comment from Fiji Rugby Union’s Development Manager Sale Sorovaki on the Digicel Fiji 7s team’s dismal performance in the Dubai 7s.
However, Sorovaki added the team lacked the plan to compete with teams who are coming with new ideas.
Sorovaki said the Fiji 7s team has made its work tougher as we will face big teams in the pool matches of the South Africa 7s.
On the streets, diehard fans had a lot to say after watching the quarterfinals on Saturday night.
Fiji Rugby Union CEO Manasa Baravilala said they will have a board meeting this Wednesday and amongst other things they will discuss about our 7s team.
He refused to make further comments.
Chairman Colonel Mosese Tikoitoga referred all questions to the management.
Meanwhile, Fiji will play England at 10.22pm this Saturday in its first match of the South Africa 7s.
Fiji’s second match is against Scotland 1.28am Sunday and the last pool match is against New Zealand is at 5.58am Sunday.
The Cup quarterfinals start at 11.39pm Sunday, Cup semifinals start at 3.49am Monday and the Cup final will be played at 6.30am Monday.
