New planes and rebranding will benefit tourism
The addition of new planes for our national carrier and rebranding it to Fiji Airways will undoubtedly further boost the performance of the tourism industry.

These are the words of Castaway Island Getaway chairman and chief executive officer Geoffrey Shaw during the Fiji Australia Business Council Forum currently underway.

He said as a result Fiji should expect 2013 as another good year for tourism.

Shaw said there are indications that tourist numbers from both Australia and New Zealand have increased at a record level over the past three years.

He said the target of 745,000 visitors for next year is impressive and this is something a decade ago was simply just a dream.

He added that the announcement by the Fiji National Provident Fund of $150 million to restart the Momi Bay Resort developments will assist in strengthening tourism attractions internationally.
