As the public consultations on the new constitution gets underway in Suva, the Constitution Commission is encouraging people to come forward and voice their opinions.
Chairperson Professor Yash Ghai said people wanting to submit do not have to worry too much about technical terms and should make simple submissions.
He said they are interested to hear what people's visions are for the future, what are the hardships they facing and how they want it to be improved.
Prof Ghai said the public must come forward without any fear and say whatever they feel, however people should refrain from making personal attacks.
Individuals and organizations can make oral or written submissions to the Commission.
The first public consultation today will be held at the lower auditorium, Suva Civic Center which ends at 3pm.
Tomorrow, the second public consultations will be held at the Nasinu Town Council chambers from 9am to 4pm.
On Monday it will be held at the Salvation Army at Grantham road from 9am to 4pm.
