The teachers and students of Dilkusha Methodist High School had a reason to celebrate with a dance this morning after the opening of three new classroom blocks.
Principal Joji Nakaora said that 90 Form 3 students will study in the $140,000 block which has been built with the financial assistance of the Japanese Embassy.
He said they have faced a lot of problems in the previous years where due to space shortage, 45 students had to be cramped into one class.
However, he said the new block will now bring better education for the students who will also get to use new desks and chairs donated by the Embassy.
The Japanese Ambassador EiiChi Oshimi, while handing over the key to the school management, stressed that education is vital for everyone as it improves one’s life as well as the socio-economic development of any country.
Dilkusha Methodist High School has a roll of 560 students.
