Families get new homes after TC Evan

To be given the keys of a new home was something Sunil Kumar never dreamt of after the family home at Maqere, Tavua, was destroyed by Hurricane Evan.

34-year-old Kumar, who is a painter, his younger brothers and their elderly parents, moved into their new home for the first time after living for months with relatives.

Meanwhile, six families who had their homes destroyed in Tavua have so far been assisted with new homes fully funded by the government.
