The Fiji Teachers Union has asked the Public Service Commission to upgrade teacher salaries as soon as the teachers complete the required course and not after the graduation ceremony.
In the Union's Annual General Meeting, General Secretary Agni Deo Singh highlighted that many teachers who have gained higher education are now opting to join tertiary institutions.
PSC Permanent Secretary Parmesh Chand responded that with regards to the salary issue, the commission is always open to submissions.
