Govt declines funding for Fiji Rugby League
The Fiji National Rugby League have just received confirmation from the Ministry of Sports, confirming them that Cabinet has declined to approve the provision of funds for the Fiji Bati preparation and participation - in the 2008 Rugby League World Cup.

FNRL Chairman Peni Musunamasi said in a statement this afternoon that they will try to meet the Interim Prime Minister and discuss ways in which the Interim Government will be able to help.

However, Musunamasi adds that despite the hiccup preparations are still on target and Assistant coach Shane Morris and technical adviser Max Ninness will be in the country to assist the Elite squad.

Meanwhile the FNRL is still looking for a Battle of the Bati sponsor which involves $60,000 - to     form as their trial games to the build-up to the World Cup in September.
